Club will make it an unpleasant place

I refer to Nick and Meg Bond’s letter in the Courier last week and am supporting their appeal. Leamington is currently a safe area but this will change once a sex club opens.

It’s simple – it’s a residential area and there are clear council rules in place not to grant these licences in close proximity to residential areas. How can councillors disregard their own rules?

How short-sighted to think that this sort of business will revive the area – on the contrary it will kill it. And who will have to pick up the bill? The council, police and residents. Have the councillors budgeted for this? No matter what the applicant and her solicitor say the establishment will increase crime in this area and will make it unpleasant and unsafe to live in. - R Pfeffer-Ward, via email.
