A bit late to start protesting

It seems to me an unusual approach to shut the door after the horse has bolted. Chris White should have made his feelings quite clear on the building of 13.000 new homes, when the Conservative council strategy was proposed. It has been known for a long time by residents of Warwick and Leamington that the infrastructure is somewhat lacking

Maybe his interest is as obscure in that matter as it is in Warwick District Council’s tenant panel. We have only been established for three years and owing to the concept being a Conservative initiative (localism act supporting the tenant panel), to my knowledge he has shown as little interest in that as I would assume he has shown in the need for building new homes. However Dr Lynette Kelly, Labour’s prospective parliamentary candidate, for Leamington and Warwick, has shown a keen interest in the progress of WDC’s tenant panel and she is fully aware of the concerns of the people of Leamington and Warwick of the poor state of the infrastructure. She had first hand experience of being stuck in traffic while travelling through Leamington to meet with Harriet Harman MP, who visited Leamington on a door knocking exercise last week.

Chris White is suggesting that consultation should be the standard. Common sense dictates that he should have taken that approach from the beginning at the initial proposal two years ago.

Rob Harris, Chairman Warwick District Council’s tenant panel.
