Nurse Maryann is not the retiring type

RETIREMENT won’t make a Lillington district nurse any less busy - not that she has any plans to slow down.

Maryann Dobbin has been a nurse in south Warwickshire since 1985 after returning to the career in 1982.

After many years at the Ellen Badger Hospital in Shipston she studied politics at Warwick University in 1998 and qualified as a district nurse at Coventry University, working in Wellesbourne and Lillington.

The 62-year-old has also served as a steward for the Royal College of Nursing, a town councillor and works for a palliative care group in Shipston.

She said: “I will certainly miss the cameraderie. It’s a very hard job but I love it. It seems daft to retire - I’m not old.”
