New Year’s message from Kenilworth mayor Cllr Dave Shilton
Hopefully the youth and community centre will flourish under its new management, then we look forward to the Kenilworth Festival, a great event that brings the community together, and then it will be the Lions show in June along with the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations and the Rotary Two Castles Run.
We will then have the chance to see the Olympic flame being run through Kenilworth on the first of July, which is a once in a lifetime chance to see this historic event, with activities to support this all day being planned. Then of course we have our carnival which will be its 80th year in July.

Hide AdAfter this we look forward to the Round Table bonfire night fireworks at the castle - always a great success - but to finish off we have the Carols at the Castle, followed by the duck race on Boxing Day.
So as you see I believe Kenilworth has a lot to look forward to in 2012, with, I would hope, the end of the threat of HS2, but an announcement that a train station for Kenilworth may become a reality once again.
To all of our wonderful organisations I thank you for all of your time and effort you provide in so many ways to help make this town of ours very special.
My thanks and best wishes to you all.
