Museum celebrates diamond anniversary

A MUSEUM in Warwick celebrated its 60th birthday recently and is holding some free workshops to mark the occasion.

The Market Hall Museum in Market Place, run by Warwickshire County Council, is extending its birthday celebrations by inviting families to take part in the workshops.

There is a special exhibition on the 60 years of the museum, showing objects and stories collected throughout that period.

On January 21 there will be the chance to explore the exhibition and take a detective trail around the museum or join in with free workshops from 10.30am and 1.30pm.

Two interactive craft sessions will be on offer, and there is no need to book.

Museum and natural environment manager Michelle Alexander said: “This will be an imaginative and fun way to mark Warwickshire Museum’s anniversary.

“We’re looking forward to unveiling the artists’ creative responses to the museum’s collections, and inviting families to come in to create masterpieces of their own.”
