Lions bring charitable cheer again
Members of the club, accompanied by Santa Claus and representatives from charities from the area, have spent the past two weeks visiting children in Wellesbourne, Barford, Ettington, Kineton and other more remote areas of south Warwickshire, handing out gifts and accepting charitable donations.
Last year’s collection raised around £4,000, divided equally among the causes that took part. Some 21 charities are taking part this year.

Coordinator Charles Williams said: “For many of our smaller partners, who give up a couple of hours to help us help them, the donation of well over a hundred pounds each can make a lot of difference to their good causes.
“Despite the recession and economic doom and gloom, the generous folks across our district always give most generously whenever the name of Wellesbourne and District Lions Club is mentioned - and for that we are always most grateful. We hope that we may even improve on last years wonderful results.”
