Backspace - which took place as part of Heritage Matters’ Leamington Looks Back history festival this summer - won the Gold Award for best event at the tenth annual Fresh Awards in Manchester, which are designed to recognise and reward creativity, effectiveness and innovation in the creative, digital and media arenas in the UK and Ireland.

Supported by a grant from Warwick District Council’s Operation Footfall, the event was organised by Leamington marketing experts Craig Spivey of Vital Marketing and Natalie Griffin of Press Space PR.

Natalie said: “The festival would simply not have been possible without the generosity and hard work of the local game development community, and we were honoured to be able to tell their story for the first time. This award is for them.”
