Leamington man jailed for firearm offences

A 47-year-old Leamington man was sentenced on Thursday to 16 weeks in prison after pleading guilty to two firearm charges.

Kevin Davies, of Windmill Road in Leamington Spa was given a 16-week sentence for possession of a firearm in a public place and the same sentence for possession of a firearm when prohibited. Both sentences are to run concurrently.

Police officers from the Priority Policing Team in Leamington arrested Davies on May 13 whilst on patrol for Operation X in Tachbrook Road. When searched he was found to be in possession of a .22 air rifle.
