Following a police appeal on Saturday, Tom Michael Weedon, 21, from Leamington, was found and arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.

The charges relate to two cars being set alight in Chase Meadow at 5am on Saturday morning.

Warwickshire Fire Service said it received a number of 999 calls reporting two cars on fire in Yeats Drive.

Two fire engines from Leamington attended the scene but due to the large number of calls being received and callers saying the fire was spreading to the house, a further fire engine from Kenilworth was sent.

The fire service said there was one car on the road and one on the driveway which was affecting the house.

A 22 year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Warwickshire Police have thanked the media and the public for helping with the appeal.
