The not-for-profit social enterprise will be offering additional courses to cover growing demand for innovative ways of reaching young people who don’t fit well with mainstream education.

New Level 2 courses include Film & Photography, Computer Games Development, Art & Design, Functional Skills in Maths and English and ECDL (European Computer Driving License)

Director Timothy Ellis said, “Even though there are moves at central government to diminish the arts in education we at LAMP understand the importance for young people to be able to apply themselves creatively. The arts can switch people onto learning and we’re proud to be the only arts based alternative provider in Warwickshire. This is great news for parents, schools, and students alike, who will all gain from a more comprehensive programme of alternative education with creativity and innovation at its core.”

These developments come after a great year for the centre, which has a 100% pass rate for the last academic year, and achieved Direct Claims status for its Music Performance course.

The portfolio standard has been so consistently high that the exam board, NCFE, have taken samples of student and assessors work to keep on record as examples of outstanding work.

To celebrate its growth, the centre will be hosting an open day in the Autumn.
