Home Secretary Theresa May visits Leamington school in run up to election

Accompanied by Warwick and Leamington’s Conservative Parliamentary Candidate Chris White, Ms May met staff and pupils including six-year-old May with whom she had a conversation about them both having diabetes.

She also met May’s class and had a chat with them about being an MP.

Theresa said; “I was interested to see the great work that this school does but it is also a school in transition which is looking ahead to a really exciting future with its new headteacher and has got plans for the future. It’s a very popular school and it’s been great to see the confidence that the children have and the quality of education they are getting here.

“I was also very pleased to be able to support Chris, who has been a great MP for this area for the last five years.

“I never predict election results but when it comes to the day people have a very clear choice, a choice here of somebody who represents their constituency well and a choice of who is going to be in Number 10 Downing Street.

“The message for the people of Leamington is that voting Conservative here and voting for Chris White here is voting for a good local MP and somebody who in a Conservative Government will be part of that Conservative team who can really deliver for the area.

“We’re looking at education today but the key to that and all the other public services is a strong economy and that is what we can deliver.”
