Helen Ley transfer agreed

PATIENTS, their families and staff at the Helen Ley centre near Leamington have been told a contract to save the home is to be exchanged in the next few days.

Current owner the MS Society reached an agreement with Castel Froma care home in Leamington yesterday - three months after the transfer was proposed.

The formal transfer of the centre in Blackdown, which provides dedicated respite care for people with multiple sclerosis from around the country, is expected to take place in April.

The site had also provided ten people with permanent homes in the Helen Ley court, but all residents have moved out due to uncertainty surrounding the centre’s future, following the MS Society’s decision to end its residential respite care services in 2010.
