Groups can share their resources and advice

A NEW way for community groups in Warwickshire to share ideas and resources has evolved.

The Warwickshire Community Resource database, funded by the Children’s Workforce Development Council and led by Warwickshire Children and Voluntary Youth Services (WCVYS), was formed in response to feedback from organisations in the county.

With a tag line, ‘give it, get it, swap it’, the database is free for groups to access.

Vic Jones, chief officer of WCVYS, said: “How many times has a youth group had to go on to an auction website to buy a large barbecue for a summer fundraiser, then had to find somewhere to store it or sell it on again? Wouldn’t it be easier just to get it from another organisation within Warwickshire for a small fire fee or swap it for the use of their training room?

“Warwickshire Community Resource is a great concept that could make a huge difference to some of the smaller community groups, as well as the larger organisations.”
