Green-fingered challenge for next year

A STUNNING display of snapdragons secured the Warwick Railwayside Allotments Cup for gardener Cliff Wiggins, who was judged to have the best flowering plants on show at the beginning of last month.

Cliff was presented with the cup by last year’s winner, Richard Bache, watched by runners-up and other members of the group.

In second place was Rowena Fuller who with the help of her daughter grew Golden Rod, and Norman Davis who won third place for his dahlias.

It is a tradition that each year’s cup winner sets the challenge for the following year. Cliff has declared this will be whoever can grow the largest marrow.
