Fourth fire in 12 months at derelict pub in Warwick

FIREFIGHTERS were called to an incident at a derelict Warwick pub for the fourth time this year yesterday (Sunday).

Warwickshire fire control received a call at about 2.10pm yesterday for crews to attend a fire at the Hobsons Choice Spinney Hill.

Two crews from Leamington were first on the scene and a crew from Southam also attended.

The fire was located in the ground floor bar area and was extinguished in just over an hour with the use of breathing apparatus, a hose reel, a covering jet and a hydrant.

Arsonists have set fires at the site on two separate occasions in the last 12 months, the most recent being in October, and another incident took place earlier this year.
