Expected approval for new town of 3,000 homes in south Warwickshire

A ‘new town’ of more than 3,000 homes near Gaydon and Lighthorne is likely to be confirmed as a ‘preferred option’ in Stratford District Council’s new housing plan.

Senior councillors have approved a proposal to include the scheme for the new town, put forward by the Commercial Estates Group, as a prority site when making decisions about where to place the 10,800 homes it has to build across the district by 2031.

That decision now has to be approved by all councillors at the next full council meeting, which takes place on Wednesday May 12.
