Enter Warwick photo company’s online competition

PHOTOGRAPHERS in Leamington and south Warwickshire have been invited to use their inspiration and originality in an online photography competition.

Warwickshire-based photo finisher CEWE Color is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a ‘50 years of innovation’ contest and open day.

Anyone from around Leamington, Warwick, Kenilworth or Stratford can submit up to three images based on the themes of Warwickshire, innovation or the number 50.

CEWE marketing manager Sarah Brockhurst said: “CEWE Color is really proud to be celebrating 50 years of innovation and launching a local photography competition is the perfect way to mark the occasion. It’s all about inspiring ideas and originality not technical abilities or knowhow, so anyone and everyone can have a go.”

The photobook firm will also be holding an open day at its headquarters in Titan Business Park on Friday September 23.

Warwick mayor Cllr Trudy Offer will open the event at 10am, and the day will include a speech by CEWE chief executive

CEWE will be presenting awards to staff for innovation and outstanding contributions and unveiling £250,000 technology which will enable it to print personalised greetings cards.

Pupils from schools will be able to see how photographs are processed and learn about the history of photography and printing, with some getting the chance to design their very own greetings card.

The closing date for the competition is Friday September 30. The 50 best entries will be chosen by a panel of VIPs and judges from local photographic societies and included in a limited edition book, with the winning phototgraph on the cover.

The winner will receive a copy of the book, a £50 voucher and a digital camera. Runners up will receive copies of the book and £10 vouchers.

Entries should be submitted online. Each entry should be of the highest resolution available and include the photographer’s name, where and when it was taken and any other details that tell the story of the picture. Click on the link on the top right to enter and see terms and conditions.
