Police confront man who was trying to open house doors in the Rugby borough in the early hours of the morning

A suspected burglar has been spotted trying to open house doors in the Rugby borough.

And when officers confronted him, they found what they believe to be stolen property.

Warwickshire Police said a 33-year-old man from Coventry has been arrested on suspicion of burglary.

A police spokesperson said: "Officers responded to a report of a man trying house doors in Heather Road, Binley Woods, in the early hours of this morning (Thursday).

"Officers identified a suspect matching the description of the offender and seized what they believe to be stolen property. He remains in custody."
