A 13-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with police assault in Leamington.

Warwickshire Police said a Police Community Support Officer was assaulted yesterday (Tuesday December 21) while out on patrol in town by a boy on an E-scooter.

The E-scooter was also seized from the boy and was impounded.

A police spokesperson said: "Assaults on our staff will not be tolerated and will be dealt with seriously.

"Members of the public should be aware that it is illegal to ride E-scooters in public, unless they are correctly maintained and insured as they have been in certain test areas. Leamington is not one of these areas."
