Conservative’s new leader is selected

Kenilworth councillor Andrew Mobbs has taken over as leader of the Conservative group on Warwick District Council following the resignation of Cllr Michael Doody.

Cllr Mobbs, the district’s portfolio holder for finance for the past four years, must now wait until December 4 to see if he can take over as leader of the whole council.

He said: “I am absolutely delighted to become leader of the Conservative group.”

Referring to the forthcoming battle to take over as leader of the district council he added: “This is stage one of a two-stage process.”
