Charity duo set out their challenges for Myton Hospice

Two '˜Kili conquerors' from Warwick Gates are cycling, running and skydiving together this year to raise as much as they can for the Myton Hospices.

Friends Kam Sidhu and Carlee Hardaker, who last year raised £600 for Hospice UK by climbing Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, have set themselves a minumum target of £1,000 to raise through the year, starting with taking part in a ten-hour spinathon at Nuffied gym in Heathcote on March 11.

Kam said: “A few of my other friends have done challenges in the past and they have always supported Myton Hospices.

“This year I went along to one of the Myton Hospice open evenings. It really touched me that so many people give up so much time and effort in supporting such a worthy local charity, so I decided I wanted to be part of that.”

In April Kam is taking on the 10k Wolf Run in Offchurch, while Carlee will run the Paris Marathon - and in May, the ladies are both jumping out of a plane with a 10,000ft freefall at Brackley Airfield.

Kam said: “I have never done a skydive before and I’m afraid of heights so this is going to be very challenging for me. I’m feeling apprehensive and petrified, but knowing that I’m raising money for Myton Hospices will make it worth it.”

The friends will also be taking on the less-petrifying tasks of organising a cake sale, bag-packing, quiz night and raffle.
