Cause helps the victims of domestic violence

A NEW charitable cause has been set up to help assist women and children who are affected by domestic violence in Warwickshire.

Beki Taylor, who works closely with victims through Warwickshire Police and Warwickshire Domestic Violence Support Services, has found a gap in the help offered by professional services due to lack of funding or lack of 24-hour support.

As a result, Ms Taylor has set up STEVENS Enterprise and has raised more than £1,500 to provide emergency food parcels and treats for victims.

She said: “Quite often ladies have to move away from family and friends and go to refuge accommodation or safe houses that are far away from home for their own protection.

“It’s at times like this that they are at their most vulnerable and lonely and they are often without access to money.

“With the money I have raised so far I have been able to give them some little treats to help boost their confidence or give them something nice to do to help them positively occupy their time.

“I know from the feedback I have received that this has helped them a lot.”

Ms Taylor is aiming to raise enough money to register STEVENS Enterprise as an official charity.
