Cars crash into home in Baginton

A CAR careered into the driveway of a home in Baginton yesterday (Monday), crashing into another car and destroying its front porch.

Fire crews from Leamington and an ambulance rushed to the scene in Frances Road just after 5pm and rescued a person who had become trapped.

A black Vauxhall Corsa had left the road and collided with a Ford Mondeo, which ploughed into the porch of the house.

The driver of the Corsa was trapped in his car for around 20 minutes while the roof was removed and he was cut out, before being taken to the University Hospital in Coventry. An ambulance spokesman said he did not appear to have any significant injuries.

He added: “At the time of the crash there were four people in the lounge of the house which is next to the porch. Thankfully they were all unhurt.”
