Branches blown off trees in Leamington by huge gust of wind

A brief yet powerful gust of wind blew branches off trees and shook buildings in Leamington this afternoon.

After the gust, which lasted about 20 seconds, several trees on Holly Walk had large branches missing, with some debris in the road by Regent Street.

Trees next to the Pump Rooms also suffered damage, with one smaller tree’s trunk being bent at a 45-degree angle by the force of the gust, and a bollard was blown over in Jephson Gardens.

A passer-by commented: “It was like a mini tornado.”

It appears that no vehicles or buildings were damaged by the gust.
