A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail.

During the early hours of Tuesday January 19, a burglary took place at a house/garage on Hillmorton Road.

Some items were recovered from this break-in but others, such as a white Specialized Hardrock mountain bike, are still outstanding.

A 20-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and is currently on bail.

Searches of stolen items also led to a high-value bicycle being recovered that was believed to have been stolen from Alwyn Road on January 13.

The bicycle has since been returned to its owner.

DC Jim Middleton of Warwickshire Police said: “We would ask the residents of Rugby to remain vigilant and ensure that any garages or sheds which house valuable items are secure.

“Burglars are currently seeing sheds as easy targets whilst people sleep, and high value bicycles are being stolen which is very upsetting for the owners.

“We would ask that if people are offered bicycles for sale and the price seems too good to be true, then it most probably is. If you are offered a £500 bike for £50 then it could be somebody’s stolen bicycle.
