Body of missing man Baljeev Johal found in the River Leam

A body recovered from the River Leam in Marton has been identified as Nottingham man Baljeev Johal who went missing from Ryton-on-Dunsmore six months ago.

Baljeev, who was 24, was reported missing on the night of Sunday October 5.

He had been attending a wedding as the sports a wedding at the Sports Connexion in Leamington Road.

Extensive searches and appeals were carried out.

His body was found the day after the six month anniversary of his disappearance.

His family has been informed and have asked to have their privacy respected as they come to terms with the news.

Baljeev had recently graduated from Leicester University with a 2:1 degree in business.

His sister Haneet has described him as a homely kind of person, who was quiet and kept himself to himself.

Miss Johal described how life had stopped since Baljeev went missing.

Speaking last week she said: “As a family it gets harder and harder for us. People say things get easier over time, but for us it get’s worse.

“We just need some piece of mind, and to know if Baljeev is out there somewhere that he is okay.

The family had been out searching ro Baljeev every day and trying to make contact with him.

Warwickshire Police and the family have thanked the public, the media and the Missing People charity for their support in the search to find Baljeev.
