Awards to recognise maternity unit staff

A NATIONAL charity founded by a Kenilworth woman is inviting people to nominate maternity staff who have helped their families through traumatic births.

Baby Lifeline has extended the deadline for Maternity Unit Miracles (MUM awards) to July 20.

Across the UK, maternity staff are facing new challenges ranging from an increase in births and a shortage in midwives and clinicians to dealing with more complicated births because of an increase in the age of mothers.

The 2012 MUM Awards give families who have been exceptionally supported through a traumatic birth the chance to thank the team who helped them. Awards will be presented in London on November 7.
