Hillmorton Primary School pupil tests positive for Covid-19, some staff and pupils asked to self-isolate

Precautions have been taken at Hillmorton Primary School in Rugby following the discovery that a pupil tested positive for Covid-19.

Dr. Shade Agboola, director of Public Health in Warwickshire confirmed a case had been discovered at the Watts Lane school and explained that the relevant precautions have been taken.

She said: "In line with advice from Public Health Warwickshire, we have reviewed all possible close contacts and all staff and students with direct contact with the positive case have been contacted and asked to self-isolate for 14 days.

“The rest of the school remains safe and open to all other pupils. If you have not been contacted directly, then your child can continue their normal activities.

"We would ask that if anyone within a household is showing any symptoms of the virus; a high temperature, a continuous cough and a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste that all household members should self-isolate until that person has been tested and it is negative."
