Dementia trust benefits at launch of new venue

Guests enjoyed free Champagne, canapés and live music from local artists including The Pips, Shanade and Chris Gibbons.

Guests had a chance to mingle with representatives from The Pam Britain Trust for Dementia who presented the charity raffle winners, Jean Enfell and Rick Stanforth, with their prize of a bottle of Veuve Cliquot Champagne.

Kerry Ward from the trust said: “We were delighted that Bedford Street chose to support us on their launch night. The evening seemed to be a great success and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. We are extremely grateful for the generosity of the management and customers who raised £170 for the trust and we hope to join up with them again in the future to raise money and awareness to help those recently diagnosed with dementia and their carers.”

Bedford Street aims to offer a great new place in the centre of town offering breakfast, lunch and dinners and then turning into a late bar in the evenings with lots of events and classes to take part in as well as live music at the weekends, all at affordable prices.

The new venue, with exposed brick walls and industrial style lighting is modern and edgy with a sense of fun injected into it with some quirky features. It has created 12 new jobs since opening, with plans to expand the team further after the installation of a Bulmers garden, launching in May 2015, which it is hoped will help bring the outdoor experience to a new level.
