Until today (Thursday): Art lovers in Leamington have got the chance to view and buy original artwork from future stars of the art world at a special exhibition. Students from Leamington College are selling 10 inch by 10 inch artworks for £10 at the annual 10x10x10 special exhibition. All arts students across a range of courses were invited to take part and have produced work including photography, illustration, printmaking, painting, collage, drawing and textile pieces. A percentage of each sale will go to the School of Arts charity of the year, SSNAP, which supports sick and premature babies in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital. Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum, until December 6: A celebration of the 10th anniversary of Leamington Football Club reaching the first round proper of the FA Cup. As well as memorabilia, those who wish to relive the football matches can watch a film documenting the cup run on the TV screen in the museum. There will also be a place for people to share their memories of the day.

Periodic Tales: The Art of the Elements

Exhibition runs at Compton Verney until December 13. The exhibition is based on the best-selling book, Periodic Tales: The Curious Lives of the Elements by Hugh Aldersey-Williams. Kineton Amateur Dramatics Society stages wartime drama The Accrington Pals by Peter Whelan. The production is dedicated to two men in particular from the village who died at the Battle of the Somme along with 600 men from the Accrington regiment, and organisers hope that money from a collection at the door will be able to go to the restoration and improvement of the Kineton village war memorial. KADS will be performing the play tonight in Kineton Village Hall. Tickets are available on the door.

Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum will be holding a special Lantern Making, Arty Tots session from 11am to 12 noon and 2pm to 3pm. Some 60 Christmas tree lanterns have been created for children to decorate with glitter, sequins, tissue paper and tinsel. Torches will be available to purchase to light up the creations. The decorated lanterns can then be taken away and can join the Leamington Lantern Parade Festival on Sunday December 6. Call 742700 to book a place. Places are free but limited.

Show and Tell free talk: Half a Billion Years Ago: Warwickshire’s First Life’. County Record Office, Warwick, 1pm to 1.30pm. Exploring the rock and fossil evidence from quarries near Nuneaton for the first inhabitants of what is now Warwickshire. How the ancient seas that covered Warwickshire during the Cambrian Period harboured ancient sealife.
