The four lads - aged between 23 and 26 - play their own original pop-rock music similar in sound to the likes of Feeder and Ash and have already performed successful gigs in the bright lights of Birmingham.

Drummer Jamie Ballard, who was contacted by fellow band mates Ollie Basnett, Ryan Lowry and John Cumella last summer after posting an advert in a practise studio to join a band, said: “We’ve done three shows in Birmingham, recorded our own album and we’re half way through producing a music video. Our first single will be released on January 24. Then we are doing a mini tour around the UK.

“Our aim is to go into music professionally. We’ve all been doing music as a hobby for some time now, but we are really making a go of it now.”

Having also recently played at Cox’s Yard (now the Lazy Cow) in Stratford, the boys are keen to get known in more intimate spots around Warwickshire and are planning to organise gigs at the White Horse and the Clarendon in Leamington in the next few months.

Their album, Drive Home Today is due for release on March 3 and will soon be available for pre-order. To find out more about the band, visit www.facebook.com/socalledenemy or follow them on Twitter @SoCalledEnemyUK
