Jolly japes with the ‘gels’ of Grangewood at Leamington theatre
The play is set in a pre-war world of jolly japes, sports fixtures and snobbery in the best tradition of Angela Brazil - who lived in Coventry - and perhaps Enid Blyton’s later Mallory Towers series.
The plot is deliberately absurd but just watch the choreography of what promises to be a positive hoot of a performance by Rachel Cooper, as poor scholarship girl Daisy, plus Katherine Bayley as her best friend Trixie and Zoe Faithfull as Grangehurst School’s head girl Clare.

“It’s also perfect entertainment for balmy summer evenings when audiences can enjoy a Pimms and a giggle with the girls of Grangewood.”
