Get ready for an autumn of entertainment at Leamington’s Spa Centre

Comedian Ruby Wax’s latest show and a world premiere of a new English production of an Ibsen play are among the autumn highlights coming to the Spa Centre in Leamington.

Based on her critically-acclaimed book Sane New World, Ruby’s new show, which takes the stage on September 20 at 7.30pm, aims to show audiences how to find calm in a frenetic world. Tickets £18 (£16 concessions).

Then on September 26, audiences can see comedian, journalist, novelist and activist Rob Newman make his return to comedy with his first complete show in seven years, Rob Newman’s New Theory of Evolution. Rob will explore how he thinks the latest science demonstrates that “DNA is not destiny”. The show starts at 8pm. Tickets £12.50 (£10 concessions).

On October 1, the Spa Centre is giving local people the chance to see multi-award-winning comedian, actor, presenter, writer and raconteur Stephen Fry on stage with his show More Fool Me: A Memoir, broadcast live at its cinema. The showwill give audiences a sneak preview of Fry’s new volume of memoirs. The screening will be at 7.15pm and tickets cost £10.

UK Touring Theatre returns to the Spa Centre with their brand new English version of A Doll’s House, Henrik Ibsen’s groundbreaking play about marriage, money, and the freedom of women in the late 19th century, on October 2 and 3 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £15.

Then there’s more fun to be had as the Leamington Spa Comedy Festival returns from October 11 and 18, where acts will include Paul Chowdhry, The Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre, Henning Wehn, Rory McGrath and Philip Pope, Milton Jones, Sean Hughes, Sarah Pascoe and a children’s comedy club.
