Set sail at the Art Barn in Warwickshire

Marine artist John Scott Martin is presenting around 50 of his original paintings and prints at the Art Barn at the Old Rectory in Preston Bagot.

John, who chooses his media depending on the subject, works with acrylics, watercolours, gouache, pastel, inks - and sometimes a mixture.

He works from photographs capturing classic sail that he has taken while at sea and by attending major regattas in England and the south of France.

He said: “Although my pictures are about an event in time, I try and communicate my own personal impressions of light and atmosphere and, of course, not forgetting the weather and the sea conditions.”

The exhibition is open from 10am to 6pm each day and run until Sunday.
