Polynesian culture brought to a Warwick stage

THE Pacific islands will be brought a little closer to home today (Saturday) thanks to Playbox Theatre.

The theatre group premiered its poetic new circus creation Four Phases at The Dream Factory in Warwick last weekend, and its run will finish this afternoon.

Inspired by the ancient Polynesian culture of Ho’oponopono, this contemporary circus is influenced by fashion design – Givenchy Haute Couture Autumn 2011 inspires the costume design ‘angels meet birds of paradise to deliver an ethereal collection’ – a fantasy and a universe reflecting another dimension of our world. The four phases of the show originate from the islands of Vanuatu in the South Pacific, and are called I’m Sorry, Please Forgive Me, Thank you, and I Love You.

Director Gaynor Marro said: “I am excited and confident that all the hard work and creativity that has gone into the Circus groups this year will contribute to a fantastic, contemporary, powerful, beautiful piece of modern Circus.”

It marks Playbox’s first circus production in two years and will be showing at 4pm, with tickets costing £11.50. Call 419555.
