Haydn and Handel’s works in Warwickshire church concert
THE Stour Singers, The Cherwell Orchestra and several soloists will be conducted by Richard Emms in a concert featuring music by Haydn and Handel tonight (Saturday).
The event takes place at St Edmund’s church in Shipston-on-Stour and will include Haydn’s Creation Mass, which was performed first in 1801 in celebration of the name-day of Princess Esterhazy.
Handel’s anthem Let God Arise completes the programme.
