Glee is set to fill Warwick’s Playbox

THE sound of Glee will take over Saturdays at The Dream Factory’s Playbox Theatre in Warwick from September.

A fusion of song and glitz will be created with The Glee Club One, for eight to 12 year olds, from 9am to 11am, and Glee Club Two, for over 13s, from 11am to 1pm. Both clubs will include songs from the hit American musical comedy-drama Glee.

The Musical Theatre department at the Playbox has a history of creating new versions of all the favourite musicals, including Cabaret, High School Musical and HAIR, and hopes this new club will keep the music playing well into the future.

Stewart McGill, artistic director of Playbox, said: “At first the combination of Glee Club and Playbox Theatre may seem unusual, however what impresses us is the fundamental optimism of the genre and the bringing together of great, powerful and inspirational songs of all styles.

“I am really looking forward to seeing what happens when Playbox meets Glee Club here and the explosion of song and sound that we anticipate.

“The results will form part of our very special Christmas season in Warwick.”

In the centre, every Saturday, all studios will be in action, and the new look coffee shop and leisure area can be used to relax in before, after or in between classes.
