On Friday (May 30), the Kinsky Piano Trio from Prague are making their Leamington debut with a programme of trios by Czech composers Hummel, Fibich, Martinu and Dvorak.

The trio is made up of Lucie Sedlakova Hulova on violin, her husband Martin Sedlak on cello and Slavka Vernerova Pechocova on piano. Slavka appeared at the 2009 BBC Proms, playing in the Concerto for Two Pianos and Orchestra by Martinu with the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Jiri Belohlavek.

Richard Phillips of Leamington Music, which runs the Leamington Music Festival and concerts throughout the year, said: “The concert on June 1 is dedicated to Paul Russell, well known in Leamington as a brass instrument teacher and for many years as musical director of Royal Spa Brass.

“Edward Dusinberre was helped by Paul to go to the Juilliard School in New York and this concert will see the launch of a bursary to help young musicians from the Leamington area who need funds to continue their studies before they enter the profession. Edward is a role model for aspiring young musicians and is probably the most distinguished performer that Leamington has ever produced.”

Tickets are available from the Visitors Information Centre at the Pump Room, from the Bridge House Theatre on 776438 or online: www.bridgehousetheatre.co.uk
