Dramatic music in Leamington Sinfonia concert
A contemporary piece of music depicting battles on horseback in Balkan mythology will be performed by Leamington Sinfonia at the Kingsley School in Leamington on Saturday (March 15).
Led by their young conductor Thomas Payne, the orchestra will open their concert with a premiere of Thracian Horseman by Birmingham Conservatoire student Anna-Margarita Oprenova.
Chinese pianist Liang Shan, also studying at the conservatoire, will then perform Schumann’s Piano Concerto in A minor. The concert will end with the dramatic Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony.
