Deadly goings on in thriller at Kenilworth theatre

A SUPERNATURAL thriller has arrived at the Priory Theatre’s stage in Kenilworth - just in time for Halloween.

The amateur dramatics company in Rosemary Hill are bringing David Gillespie and Colin Wakefield’s Sleep No More to audiences until next Saturday (November 3).

The action takes place in a theatre that has been closed for 60 years following the accidental death of a child during rehearsals for a Victorian melodrama, Murder by Poison.

Mickey - played by David Eardley - the great grandson of the original owner, has restored the theatre to its former glory and plans to re-open it with the very same play, with actors played by Karen Shayler, Ashleigh Dickinson and Tim Hughes.

Only Mickey’e elderly and eccentric father William – Selwyn booth, knows the truth of what happened all those years ago - and he warns Mickey that the play is cursed. As rehearsals progress, the mystery unwinds to a deadly consequence.

Director Helen Moscrop is pleased that four of the Priory Young Stages youth group – Alec Morris, Tianna Cockell, John Cherry and Sam Brown - are making their debut in a main house production.

Sleep No More is on tonight (Friday) and tomorrow and from Monday to Saturday next week at 7.30pm each evening. For tickets, call 863334.
