Team GB were winners of the ‘Davis Cup’ in Kenilworth

On the day Great Britain were beaten in Naples Kenilworth Tennis Club players were taking part in a ‘Davis’ cup event of their own.

Janet Davis sponsors and provides prizes for an annual cup competition in memory of her late husband and popular club member David.

The mixed doubles tournament, in which 32 players make up eight teams of four named after different nations, was won by the Great Britain team of captain Tom Holmes, Cheryl Edwards, Sandi McKinnon and Anne Holmes.
