Kineton caretaker’s Geordie humour to be missed

WARM-hearted appreciation for the hard work and dedication put in by a long-standing caretaker at Kineton High School was shown by pupils and staff as he took his retirement.

Ken Thompson began working as caretaker at the school in March 1987 and his face was well-known by all who spent time there right up until the end of last term, when he had his last day and was sent off with a party.

The school’s communications officer Helen Stephenson said: “Ken has been a fixture of the school for half of its lifetime and will be missed by us all. He has been a familiar face to generations of students and was well known for his friendly smile and his Geordie humour.

“He was always ready to help out come what may.”
