Sam Tyler, Race Director, said “After careful consideration and in the interests of public health, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone this year’s event.

“We recognise this news may be disappointing for those taking part, as it is for us, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to runners, supporters and sponsors alike. We will email all runners and others stakeholders in the coming days, and post an update on our website and social media channels.”

"Every runner with a place in the 2020 Wright Hassall Regency 10k Run will have their entry automatically moved to the rescheduled date (20 September 2020). There is no further action for runners to take at this time.

"All runners who have a place for the 2020 event and who choose not to take part (or are unable to do so) have the option to transfer their entry to someone they know (see www.regency10k.co.uk for details on how to do this).

"As all proceeds from the event go to local good causes, such as the homeless and local community groups, we hope that runners will support a decision not to automatically issue refunds."

Sam added: “We very much look forward to seeing everyone in September, and we appreciate the ongoing support from all who help make this such a terrific community event.”
