Paddy said: "The weather conditions were cold damp and wet and the rain made the 24 kms very challenging from the very start.

"I had two falls off the bike due to mud skidding. The weight of the back pack can make you loose your balance which means I will always end up landing heavily on the ground, but my mind is focused and I worry about the injuries afterwards."

A few days later Doyle increased his career total to 693 endurance strength titles by completing a challenge walk of 11 mile and 500 meters carrying 40 lb back pack in a time of 1 hr: 56 min: 52 sec, over the Claverdon footpaths.

He added: "Although the weather conditions were ideal the paths were still muddy and waterlogged,

"My legs started to get tired near the end with the weight of the pack but the support team got behind me which helped to reach the finish line eight minutes before the cut off time."
