Those in action include the reigning Master of Midshires and British champion James Shanes, last year’s runner-up Paul Cooper and young speedway stars James Wright, Zach Wajknecht and Callum Walker.

There will be five classes on show and 50 races, ranging from 250cc up to upright solos and the must-see 1,000cc sidecars which feature the current British champions Colin Blackbourne and passenger Carl Pugh.

Blackbourne’s major threats in a 24-strong field are expected to come from Rugby’s Mark Cossar, Rob Wilson, Paul Whitelam, Rob Bradley and Gareth Winterburn.

There are also two youth class races.

Practice is at 10.30am, with the first race due off at 12.30pm.

There are catering and toilet facilities on site and trackside parking is available, including some disabled spaces.

Entry is £12 for adults, £10 for concessions and free for under-16s.
