X Factor contestant Ben Clark is giving his support to volunteer boxers who will be taking part in a charity event at the Assembly in Leamington this month.

Ben, from Bedworth, visited the Gilliland Martial Arts Academy in Spencer Street on Monday to meet the fighters who have all been through a rigorous eight-week training programme before they enter the ring on Sunday November 29 in aid of Promised Dreams charity, which raises money for terminally ill children.

Ben said: “I am honoured to be guest of honour at this charity event, these fighters who are taking part have guts, desire and passion to help make a difference to so many children’s lives by raising money.

“I watched them training and believe me they all worked hard so this show is going to be very exciting.”

Tickets cost £20 and can be bought at the martial arts academy or from the boxers themselves. The event starts at 3pm.
