Two men arrested after police chase which ended on Myton Road after crash

Two men have been arrested after a police chase which started on the M40 near Gaydon and finished on Myton Road between Warwick and Leamington after the suspects' car crashed.

The chase happened during the night of Thursday March 16 into Friday March 17.

The suspects’ car with three people inside drove past a Warwickshire Police car at high speed near junction 12 Gaydon of the M40. It then stopped at the top of the exit slip road at J12 with its hazard lights on.

When police pulled up behind the car, it then drove off.

Police pursued the car along the along the B4100 then the A425 Banbury Rd. During the chase, items were thrown from the car including hammers, ground breaking chisels and balaclavas.

The car then turned right into Myton Rd, Warwick, and soon crashed into a lamppost coming to rest near the entrance to Homebase.

One occupant managed to escape, but the driver and the other passenger were arrested at the scene.

Both arrested persons were interviewed on Friday March 17 and were bailed while police enquiries continue.
