Three-hour oak tree fire near country pub

Firefighters were called to a tree fire behind the Saxon Mill on Monday in what turned into a three hour operation.

Crews were sent to Old Milverton Road after several 999 calls were made to reports of an oak tree on fire near to the Warwick pub.

The burning tree was found near to the river at around 2.30pm.

One fire engine from Leamington was helped to access the site with equipment by crews in a specialist off road vehicle.

Crews were on scene for three hours and returned in the evening to ensure to ensure flames were still out.
