And families have already been out exploring to see which characters they can spot and vote for their favourites.

Scarecrows are outside houses along the trail, with the teacher-creation of The Gruffalo now being proudly displayed at the office of sponsor, Brian Holt estate agent.

Office and manager, Julie Philpot described the displays as “great”, urging families to get out and enjoy the show before it comes down on June 14.

“Wow, what a great effort has been made by so many families with their fantastic scarecrows,” she said.

“It has been wonderful to see so many families taking to the trail and we look forward to meeting everyone at the Summer Fair.

“The Gruffalo has been with us at work, we have loved having him in our office, he’s been very well behaved.”

Maps cost £1 from various shops in Kenilworth and the trail can be completed in many sections by foot, cycle or car. All are welcome to take part and all proceeds will go towards replacing the school’s interactive whiteboards.

The winning entries will be announced at the school fair where all the scarecrows will return for the day.
