Thief took cash from elderly man outside cashpoint

Police are appealing for witnesses after a cashpoint theft in Warwick on Friday.

A thief stole £20 from an elderly man after it was withdrawn from the cash machine in Deansway at 1.30pm on May 6.

The 75-year-old victim was counting the cash on the bonnet of his car when the thief took one of the £20 notes and said “don’t forget this one mate” before walking off.

The elderly man followed the offender for a short distance but was not able to retrieve the cash.

The offender is described as a white man, 5ft 10ins tall, of slim build and with short, brown hair which was gelled forwards. He was wearing grey tracksuit trousers, grey t-shirt and trainers at the time.
